Lucas BorgesSenior Frontend Engineer

I modernize product frontends — the architecture, the quality systems around it, and the interfaces people actually use.

From internal Google tooling and investment platforms to the hospitality products I build today with a US team, fully remote from Brazil, with AI agents as part of how I work.

01About

10 years of frontend, from consultancy to product.

I’m a frontend engineer working mostly in React and TypeScript. Over the past decade I’ve built investment and portfolio tools, logistics platforms, internal Google tooling, and hospitality products — for consultancies, for clients, and for product teams in the US.

The thread through all of it is sustainability: modular architecture, test strategy, static analysis, and automation that let a team move quickly without accumulating risk. At Hostfully, I’m rebuilding the Digital Guidebooks product in stages while keeping the legacy application stable for the people who rely on it.

AI has reshaped how I build. I connect agents to the team’s real context through MCP servers for Figma, Jira, and our component library. I write reusable skills and prompts, and I plan work up front so autonomous agents can carry it out while tests and static analysis hold the quality bar.

I work closely with designers to find the best experience within real technical constraints, and I enjoy mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

I came to software from engineering: a B.E. in Energy Management and Planning, with an exchange at Indiana Institute of Technology, followed by a graduate degree in Software Engineering. I’m now completing a postgraduate degree in Applied AI Engineering.

Modernizing the Digital Guidebooks product — the guides hosts build and guests use throughout their stay.

      • Rebuilding the Guidebook Host and Guest applications in stages on a new foundation focused on performance, compatibility, and a modern UI.
      • Stabilized and adapted parts of the legacy UI, integrating applications through micro-frontends and embedded frames.
      • Introduced a modular architecture with documentation and contribution guidelines, static analysis, a unit/component/E2E test pyramid, and proactive monitoring.
      • Working AI-natively: MCP servers (Figma, Jira, MUI, and others) give agents the design, ticket, and component context; reusable skills and prompt engineering keep their output consistent; written plans guide autonomous agents through implementation.
      • Applied AI tooling to automate parts of the development workflow, shortening CI/CD cycles and producing release documentation through semantic releases.

06Approach

How I work.

  1. 01

    Modernize without stopping the product

Rebuild in stages, bridge old and new, and keep users unaffected while the foundation changes underneath them.

    Hostfully

  2. 02

Quality is a system, not a phase

Test pyramids, static analysis, and CI gates make quality the default outcome instead of a late-stage check.

    Hostfully · CI&T

  3. 03

Architecture that scales with the team

Modular boundaries, shared components, and clear contribution rules let more people work safely in one codebase.

    Hostfully · Loadsmart

  4. 04

    UX is an engineering concern

Work alongside designers to find the best experience inside real constraints — mobile-first, responsive, and fast.

    Hostfully · Loadsmart · CI&T

  5. 05

    Plan first, then delegate

Give agents real context through MCP, a written plan, and reusable skills. Let them take the repetitive work, and keep tests and static analysis as the gate.

    Hostfully

  6. 06

    Raise the people around you

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, share practices openly, and treat change as an opportunity to learn.
